The DADE Initiative is proud to announce the official evolution and expansion of its virtual mental health and wellness initiative, now titled Beyond the Silence.
Building upon our commitment to personal empowerment, Beyond the Silence reframes emotional well-being into an accessible, zero-barrier support system designed to help community members navigate systemic hurdles, overcome burnout, and cultivate inner strength.
An Expanded Scope of Care
While the initiative’s core mission continues to serve Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) across Nigeria, this expanded phase proudly opens its doors to broader community groups who carry significant, unaddressed emotional weight:
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs): Offering dedicated emotional recovery tools for individuals navigating the trauma and life disruptions of displacement, whether or not they have a disability.
Families, Friends & Caregivers: Providing critical burnout prevention, coping strategies, and mental relief for those caring for loved ones - no disability required.
Zero-Barrier & Inclusive Delivery
To ensure that financial and technical limitations never prevent access to care, Beyond the Silence introduces direct phone call options alongside messaging platforms, backed by call card and airtime support. This guarantees that participants in remote areas or without internet access can participate fully and seamlessly.
What the Program Offers
Confidential 1-on-1 Guidance: Private virtual sessions with qualified volunteer counselors and psychotherapists under specialized clinical oversight.
Practical Resilience Toolkit: Actionable strategies for managing anxiety, navigating caregiver fatigue, setting healthy boundaries, and building self-esteem.
Absolute Privacy: A strict confidentiality guarantee ensuring every session remains a private, secure space for the participant.
How to Join
Participation remains 100% free, but slots for this pilot phase are limited to ensure personalized, quality care for every individual and family.
