News & Updates | Community Impact

This August, as the global community marks International Youth Day, the DADE Initiative is rolling out an impactful digital literacy campaign across two states - Kaduna and Ogun.

We are excited to announce Digital Drive Day (DDD) 2026, a practical, hands-on workshop designed specifically to equip women and young persons with disabilities with essential workplace digital skills.

Double the Impact Across Two States
To ensure no young person is left behind as the job market moves increasingly online, Digital Drive Day 2026 will bring together participants in both Northern and Southwestern Nigeria:

Date: Tuesday, August 12, 2026 (International Youth Day)
Time: 9:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Kaduna Venue: Kaduna State Disability Affairs Board Hall, Kaduna
Ogun Venue: Edfrica Innovation Hub, Ogun state

Why Digital Drive Day Matters
While the digital economy offers immense possibilities, many young people with disabilities continue to encounter steep barriers when trying to access practical tech training, accessible venues, and digital tools.

Digital Drive Day cuts through these barriers. Across our learning spaces in Kaduna and Ogun, 50 young participants per location will engage in practical sessions-learning how to use daily workplace digital tools, manage data, and practice safe online habits directly from their phones and laptops.

A Space Built for Everyone
At DADE Initiative, inclusion is not an afterthought-it is at the heart of everything we do. From ensuring physically accessible space to welcoming essential guides and sign language support, we are creating a welcoming environment where every participant can learn, network, and thrive without barriers.

Stronger Together: Partnering for Impact
We believe that real community transformation happens through collaboration. We are honored to be joining hands with local disability advocacy groups, community stakeholders, and forward-thinking partner organizations who share our commitment to youth empowerment and inclusion in Kaduna and Ogun State.
